Howdy, GerArt. I’m from the United States. I hope you can read and write English so you can send me a return email. I’m sorry to say that I’m not even certain if you are German, Dutch, or another nationality.

What a wonderful site and body of work! I’m envious of your talent and creativity. And your domain name because I wanted to use it for one of my websites. It sure does follow from your name, GerArt. I’ll find another way to express it.

I currently use Danger! Art! for my Flickr account (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dangerart/) and an e-store (www.zazzle.com/dangerart). Please take a look at them. I think you might appreciate what’s on them. At least I hope you will.

I’ve wanted to have a gallery named Danger! Art! since the 1980’s, when I was a young man and wanted other people to think I was artistically and culturally, but not physically, dangerous. The small city I live in, Tallahassee, Florida, has a long history of artists who really stretch the limits of art. It spills out and revolves around Florida State University’s Fine Arts department. In the 80’s I was intimately involved with the art/music scene here, but with children and age I drifted away. Since I have retired I’m drifting back in. I’m even having an exhibit and opening at the county library in January, my first. Since food and drinks, especially alcoholic ones, are not allowed in the library, I’m planning on having pictures of food and wine scattered around.

Part of my artistic expression exists only when I am present as a performance artist. I recently transferred my website (www.myfloridamyassa.com)to allow my webmistress to host it since she is in need of income and wants to rebuild it from scratch. I plan to have it back up soon. It is for a fake town, Myassa, Florida (motto – “Your Past is Our Future), which is built around my primary performance character, The Right Honorable Rantin N. Raven-Faux VI, the Mayor of Myassa. He has two e-stores (www.zazzle.com/myassaboy named “Lashed to the Mast” and http://www.zazzle.com/wacksmuseum, “The Wacks Museum”)and a Flickr account (http://www.flickr.com/photos/67627754@N04/) I, Jim, also share an e-store with two South African artists (www.zazzle.com/post_modern). All three of those stores reflect a perverse sense of humor. Actually, the Danger! Art! store does also, in a more subtle fashion: the names of the designs. I spend a good bit of time thinking up peculiar and, I hope, clever names for all the designs.

I have contacted you and told you all this hoping that you will sense a comrade in dangerous art and will bestow your approval in my use of the name in the USA. I am planning to identify myself as “Danger! Art! Jim!” here in the US. (I think that’s a funny name with Jim! added on.) I hope this is agreeable to you. Nobody is more dangerous than someone who laughs at power and society (at least that’s what I think) and I think we both do that in our own ways.

I’ll be glad to email one or two of my designs to you, if you like. I can pretty much make them as big as you want. Currently my largest are 6000X6000 pixels at 72-100 dpi and I can enlarge them almost infinitely, up to 1,000,000X1,000,000 px, but my current email accounts accept only 25 MB. Tell me what you like.

    With Danger,
    Jim

    Hallo Jim
Sorry it took so long that I responded to your message, my hard disk broak down and then I lost my username. In Holland we talking dutch, but most of the people speak english, so I do.
I’m glad you like my site, I like your paintings, very colorful, but you don’t have to send one, I’m rather picky, everything I make in my house I made it myself and thought it.
At art fairs, I was always with a ball hat Dan(dy) Gerart and I was made sometimes shocking art DanGerArt.
    I do not sell things

    Vroets Dan GerArt
